With so much to offer, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Greenwood Gardens has a packed schedule between now and the end of the year.
Here’s a taste of what’s in store for visitors this holiday season:
Garden Photography Workshop
Ever wonder how professionals seem to capture that perfect shot, every time? Well, with the first upcoming course in the lineup, you can too. Join Greenwood Gardens and expert Joy Yagid on November 8th for an event all about cameras and how to get the most out of every photo. Participants will learn about the different functions available on modern cameras, and how to best use photography to add depth to a composition. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind chance to ask all of those technical questions you’ve been curious about since making your latest camera purchase.
Ideal for anyone hosting a dinner party later this month, the Cornucopia Workshop is certainly a local favorite in our area. By the end of the night, you’ll be heading home with a handmade centerpiece that’s ready to adorn your dining room table. Celebrate the wonderful colors of the season by putting together a cornucopia basket, full of local flowers and other floral accents. Taking place Monday, November 23rd, it’s a wonderful chance to finish up some last minute decorations, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Holiday Garland Workshop
One of Greenwood Gardens’ most popular events of December is the Holiday Garland Workshop. On December 12th, work with experienced garland-making artists to make the perfect addition to your home décor. By using boxwood and various other seasonal elements, participants can create a unique design in just a couple of short hours. Before you go out and get those pricey premade decorations, give making it on your own a try, you’ll be pleased that you did.
Holiday Wreath Workshop
If you want to make a great first impression with your door decorations, Greenwood Gardens’ Holiday Wreath Workshop on December 15th will put your festive spirit into overdrive. This event creatively uses seasonal greens and other elements to help build the perfect piece for your entryway. Add some personal flair by bringing in your own embellishments, like a splash of color or something with deeper, more sentimental meaning. Held off-site at the Community Congressional Church, this event is a wonderful opportunity to branch out and meet new people from around the neighborhood.
Holiday Della Robbia Workshop
The pièce de résistance of any party, having a Della Robbia display at your holiday event is sure to be the talk of the town. This approach to decorating, inspired by 15th century art from Italian sculptor Luca Della Robbia, is all about the grandiose dichotomy between nature and the home. In this style, hosts put together elaborate table settings that incorporate fruits with leaves, boughs, berries, and nuts into one beautiful masterpiece. On December 19th, stop by and create a unique focal point to your upcoming celebratory spread – it will be one table setting your guests are sure to remember.
Whatever the occasion this winter, Greenwood Gardens has the perfect event to help you spruce up your home. If you’re stumped, and need some serious help with your decorating, their holiday workshops are just the remedy. From wreaths to dining table displays, they’ve got you covered for all of your celebratory needs this season. For a full listing of upcoming events, check out their calendar.
